Backyard Shows
Austin is famous for many things, and its eclectic music scene is a prime example. For several decades now, fledgling musicians have flocked to Austin in the hopes of kick-starting their careers. On any given night in the city, dozens of bands are performing live at various venues. Out of all of the places to take in a live show in the state capital, The Backyard at Bee Cave has to be the most renowned. Whether you're moving to Austin from elsewhere in the country or are in the market for Austin luxury homes and would like to learn about the best that the city has to offer, you should make a point of taking in a show at this incredible venue. If you settle into a home at Spanish Oaks, you will be just a short drive away from one of the most exciting places to take in a live performance in the city. Unlike the majority of venues in Austin, the Backyard is an open-air venue. This makes sense when you think about it. After all, Austin has remarkably nice weather most of the year. Although some would say that temperatures get too hot for comfort during the summer, shows usually take place at night. By then, temperatures tend to be a lot more reasonable. At any rate, most people are willing to brave a little heat and humidity to see their favorite musicians take the stage at this unique outdoor venue.
About the Backyard
The Backyard doesn't have seats. When you buy a ticket to an event here, it's usually general admission, which means that you're not assigned a specific location. With this in mind, you should plan on bringing some blankets to lay down on the grass for the sake of comfort. There's often a lot of confusion about whether or not chairs are permitted. They are not, so don't bring any. If you try to bring some in, you will be turned away and instructed to put them back in the car.
Outside food and drinks are prohibited at The Backyard. Not surprisingly, this means that you're not allowed to bring coolers to the venue. Don't worry, though. Several popular Austin restaurants have food stands open during events. This means that you can usually take your pick from many different types of food. A variety of beverages is also available at any given event, including a selection of beers. There's no way you're going to leave a show here with an empty stomach. Keep in mind, however, that prices for refreshments tend to be a little high, which is normal for virtually any music venue.
Backyard Shows
Through the years, some of the most illustrious names in the music industry have graced the stage at The Backyard. To name a few, The Backyard has played host to Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, David Bowie and Willie Nelson. When the event schedule is a little bare, it doesn't mean that no interesting shows will be held here. It just means that they haven't been officially announced just yet.
The best way to stay on top of which events are happening at The Backyard is by checking the venue's website from time to time. You can also follow the venue on Twitter or Facebook to be alerted right away when a new show is booked. You can usually purchase tickets online, or you can wait and buy them the day of the show. Just keep in mind that popular acts often sell out well before the day of the show, so you might want to act quickly.
When you buy a new home at Spanish Oaks, you're easily able to immerse yourself in some of the best things that Austin has to offer. Many Austin luxury homes are just minutes away from The Backyard. Others are in close proximity to other popular music venues. If you're into music or just like to get out and enjoy the city in which you live, The Backyard deserves to be at the top of your list. It was closed briefly, but it's making a major comeback. There's no place else like it in Austin or elsewhere in Texas Hill Country, so make sure to check it out soon.
