Lakeway Area Churches
Many people don't feel complete until they've attended a weekly religious service. It's not only a time for prayer and reflection but also a good opportunity to bond with like-minded neighbors. There are many different houses of worship in Lakeway near the Spanish Oaks community of Austin luxury homes. If you have free time, there are many wonderful opportunities to volunteer for one of the church-sponsored neighborhood outreach programs. You can even participate in international charitable endeavors. The following paragraphs discuss a few of the area's churches; if your religion isn't mentioned, a quick Internet search should find the closest facility.

Religious education classes are popular and well attended by adults and children of all ages. Parishioners are welcome to join the choir, Knights of Columbus or the Ladies of Charity organization. Members enjoy reaching out to the community to help those in need. On Wednesday nights, the church sponsors the Healthcare Volunteer Clinic. The staff of this remarkable organization consists of volunteer doctors, nurses, medical assistants and dentists who wish to provide quality care for the uninsured.
Lake Travis United Methodist Church
The Lake Travis United Methodist Church encourages worshipers to attend Sunday services in casual attire. The ministers reach out to the entire community and conduct both traditional and contemporary services. Music plays a large role in these services, and the church encourages its members to join one of the choirs. A summer vocal camp trains school-age children who are interested in Christian musicals. The church's pre-kindergarten program is popular with the Lakeway families. The school day is 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., and the number of days a child attends is determined by age. The youngest ones are limited to two days a week while the older group has a five-day week. Bible study, choir and social groups keep the adults motivated and in touch with their neighbors.
River in the Hills Church
River in the Hills is a nondenominational Christian church with Sunday morning services and a strong emphasis on Bible study. The first Saturday of each month, volunteers work with the Capital Area Food Bank to provide food and clothing to needy residents living in the Apache Shores neighborhood.
