Spanish Oaks Director of Golf Wins 2013 Southern Texas PGA Championship!

We are very proud to report that our own David Von Hoffmann, Director of Golf at Spanish Oaks, fired a two under par 69 to hold on for victory in the 2013 Southern Texas PGA Professional Championship held at Boot Ranch in Fredericksburg this week. While David began the day with a four stroke lead, first round leader Wes Skaggs fired a front nine 31 to take the lead heading into the final nine holes. On the back nine, David made key birdies on 11, 13, 16 and 17. A great par save on the final hole sealed the win over Skaggs.
According to David, "It was great to see Wes making birdies, and I knew if I could hang in there I could make some of my own. I didn't really look at the leaderboard until about the fourteenth hole, so I knew where we stood at that point. It feels great to win at Boot Ranch. I have played this course well in the past, so I had that to draw from, too."
"The win is pretty special. I had goals at the beginning of the week to make the Texas Joe Black Cup team and to qualify for the 2014 PGA Professional Championship. It feels great to have accomplished both of those goals. Congratulations to Wes on his play as well. It was a great group to be a part of today."
